Prof. Yevhen Yashchyshyn received the M.Sc. degree in radioelectronics engineering from Lviv University of Technology (LUT), Ukraine, in 1979 and the Ph.D. degree in microwave devices and antennas from the Moscow Institute of the Electronic and Mathematics, Moscow, Russia, in 1986, and the D.Sc. (habilitation) degree in electronics from the WUT, Warsaw, Poland, in 2006. Since 1999, he has been with the Institute of Radioelectronics and Multimedia Technology (IRTM), WUT, as an Associate Professor. In 2002, he became the Head of the Antenna Laboratory IRTM WUT, and then he has held a position of the Head of  Radiocommunications Division since 2009. He holds a position of Deputy Director for Research IRTM since 2016. His research interests are in the areas of antenna theory and techniques, smart beamforming, and design of communications and radar antennas, photonic antennas, radio-over-fiber systems and applications. He has published more than 150 technical papers and two books and received eight patents. He received the 2008 EuMC Microwave Prize, Amsterdam, for reconfigurable antenna work.
